Since 1967, the Parker family and our growing team have built their reputation on a single principle: do honest work, treat every customer like a neighbor, and the rest takes care of itself.
With a toolbox, a truck, and a commitment to doing things right, Ted Parker opened an HVAC business in San Jose, California. His philosophy was simple: charge a fair price, do honest work, and treat every customer the way you'd want to be treated. Decades before it was a buzzword, Ted understood that trust is the only currency that lasts.
Dan Parker didn't wait until adulthood to learn the trade. At just 8 years old, he was already on job sites with his father β helping, watching, and absorbing everything. Growing up in the trade gave Dan a depth of practical knowledge that no classroom alone could provide.
Dan enrolled in the Sheet Metal Workers Union apprenticeship program β one of the most rigorous training pathways in the skilled trades. Over four years of intensive training in theory and hands-on practice, he mastered advanced fabrication techniques including drafting, pattern development, and layout methods like parallel line, radial line, and triangulation β skills that allow for the creation of virtually anything from sheet metal. He graduated at the top of his class.
In 1989, Dan obtained his own contractor's licenses in Sheet Metal, HVAC, and General Contracting and launched a business of his own in San Jose. He specialized in architectural sheet metal β completing standout projects including curved standing seam metal roofs and commercial systems for train stations, post offices, and major Silicon Valley developments. The craftsmanship was extraordinary. The reputation spread fast.
In 1993, Ted Parker retired and Dan took over his father's business, absorbing his customer base while still operating in San Jose. Families who had trusted Ted for years seamlessly transitioned to trusting Dan. The legacy didn't skip a beat. Dan expanded operations to include high-density residential and tract housing, building an even broader base of experience.
In 2002, Dan relocated to Valley Springs, California and established West Coast Air Conditioning β bringing that same San Jose work ethic and family-first philosophy to the foothills of Calaveras County and the communities of eastern San Joaquin County. He shifted his focus to residential service work and has served this community with pride ever since.
Dan's stepson Alex Banegas is now a partner in the business and General Manager in Training. Customers who call us today have already met Alex β he's the technician they write glowing reviews about, praising his professionalism, his knowledge, and his genuine care for getting the job done right. The family tradition of excellence isn't history. It's happening right now.
The man who started it all. Ted's commitment to honest, quality HVAC work laid the foundation for everything West Coast Air Conditioning stands for today. Retired, but never forgotten.
Sheet Metal Workers Union journeyman, top of his apprenticeship class, and a second-generation HVAC professional with over 35 years of hands-on experience. Dan leads with honesty and believes the customer always deserves the straight truth.
The third generation of family HVAC excellence. Dan's stepson Alex Banegas brings the same work ethic and dedication that defines this company β and he's already earning the kind of five-star reviews that make everyone proud.
Dan Parker holds contractor's licenses in Sheet Metal, HVAC, and General Contracting β and both he and his father Ted are Sheet Metal Workers Union alumni. That kind of multi-disciplinary training produces a professional who can diagnose and solve problems that others simply miss.
